SOFT OPTION KILLING - Every Brutal Act a Service, C40 is out Monday 29/4.

It's been three years since the last release from SOK and the long silent period hasn't tempered the bleakness of this project. Every Brutal Act a Service displays an even more barren sound than his previous Rogue State tape. SOK remains one of the unknown masters of UK industrial. 

For anyone into true old school industrial this should be an essential release! Limited to 121 copies.

IRON FIST OF THE SUN - Blush C-38 is out!

The synth driven PE of IFOTS is hard to define and is not instant on the ears which was one reason I took an interest in him. Blush follows and evolves from the debut CD on Cold Spring from last year. There is no in your face harsh approach here, IFOTS takes a much more subtle route than that and is all the more challenging for it. This tape comes with the usual Unrest design heavy card stock printed on both sides but with a considerably more pink approach than normal completed by Lee's inexplicable Lady Di worship. I have spent a lot of money on this tape and therefore trades will have to be very limited. By all means contact me but don't take anything for granted.

Just a quick thank you to all who turned up. I was amazed to see 40-50 people turn up during the holiday season. It was a great night and the venue is perfect. With the venue is seperated from the bar I have a better control on the blaggers but more importantly there's no bothering of regulars with differing musical taste. Add a powerful PA and a soundguy who's not afriad to dish out the volume the Grosvenor is just perfect for THE TRENCHES.

Big thanks to Gaya for helping out, BIZARRE UPROAR and GELSOMINA who travelled from Finland to bless my third TRENCHES night with two brilliant performances and to FAMILY BATTLE SNAKE for filling the untimely vacancy left on the bill at a relatively short notice.

I believe there were photos taken (not just the shitty toilet) so those who have feel free to share them.

I may (time and other factors allowing) post mp3's of the gig(s) later.

RYN is the project of Pete Burn (MARZURAAN) and Dean Glaister (ROMANCE). With one 7" on Drone Records to their name this is their first full length and I am very proud to be the one releasing it. Those familiar with ROMANCE will, apart from the utmost quality of his work, know how rare it is for Dean to release anything and it was at Deans house I first heard the embryo to this album. I was blown away to the point of demanding permission to release it. So 18 months later it's finally finished and ready for release. It's been a long arduous journey and holding the finished result in my hands it was worth every effort.

INSTITUT is currently working on a tape that will be released before summer.

A new UGP tape titled "WHAT WE WANT, WHAT WE BELIEVE" will be release for the UK tour in May. UGP will play in Manchester 26/5 and Newcastle 27/5 and a final Leeds date yet to be confirmed which will hopefully feature a very special guest.

New Year!

New Years Eve is always the same. Nothing happens and all your fears and hatreds concerning the human race is yet again confirmed. I did the only sane thing a person can do and donned full camo, adapted Col Kurtz mode and imersed myself in The Recording Session To End All Recording Sessions. Fuck the new Year, LETS KILL! I came out on the other side, still alive, a few hours later with another slow, gloomy and heavy as fuck track for the pending album. I have a working title for that one now by the way; UNABLE TO ABIDE THE SILENCE OF THE WORLD, which is the title of the last track on the album. Time will tell if it sticks.

The album will be delayed till at least May this year but in the meantime there are these very limited items to gaze upon:

So we hastily threw together a Trenches night with UGP playing. Big thanks to those who showed inspite of the very short notice. We had a good time. We got drunk and played which is the basic idea.

I would, however, like to extend less thanks to the few who brought their own alcohol. Here's the deal; we (me and Lirim) are probably the only ones in the south of Sweden who put on PE/noise gigs and we do it out of our own pockets. We keep our bar prices very low so all our guests can afford a good time at our club. We don't even charge an entry fee. Still some individuals felt it was OK to sneak in their own alcohol. Well, it's not OK. Thanks to that we lose money (and we did on the night) which is not a nice thing to do to us. In fact it's fucking selfish and rude! The Trenches is meant to be a cool place with no bullshit policing or the other standard crap people put up with in mainstream clubs. That changes next time. Anyone caught with their own booze can kiss their membership goodbye and expect a ban for life. The choice is yours!

Not wishing to end this on a whinging note I'd like to thank all the cool people who showed up and made it a good night. That includes both old friends and some of the newer faces I was introduced to. We have a few good things lined up for next year and who knows, Lirim might throw together a surpirse final Trenches bash before the year is over. The UGP gig was recorded and will be released on a very limited CD-r early next year.

News from the SHIFT site:

Packed and ready to go back to the old country in order to complete the recording of the first SHIFT full length album. Recording will take place in the Trenches Studio with a possible visit to my old friends in Covenant and their studio for overdubs and other bits. Dan from Crowpath will contribute some of his brutal bass and Lirim from INSTITUT will more than likely be lurking somewhere in the background. No title as of yet. Tentative release set for March 06.

Recording sessions for the next UGP release have also been booked.
